Sap Moderator Australia 17002 Posts	Posted 05/08/2009 04:48 am "Britannia seated right" is the description of the reverse - Britannia is seated, and facing towards the right side of the coin. She's "seated right" on all of your British coppers from the 1920's; it's somewhat of a redundant description, since there isn't really a "seated left" version of this coin. On British coins featuring her since 1821, Britannia has always faced right; before this time, she normally did face left. On the obverse, The king isn't described as "sitting" - it's just his portrait, and heads don't "sit". Rather, this is described as "king bare-headed facing left". And, personally, the more exclamation marks someone uses in their item descriptions, the less I'm inclined to bid. Reading an auction like that reminds me way too much of a superhero comic book. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff
