Hi, I have an inquiry regarding a couple 2004 D Proof Nickels. Was there any errors found in these proofs? Two of my nickels are gold toned and I am not sure if that's normal. Any suggestions?

Proofs are minted in San Francisco.
Your coins are from Denver , so they can't be proofs.

I have some of those 2004/2005 uncirculated nickels in rolls that have toned in a similar way. Are the ones shown in a special set as purchased or did you put them in those black holders?

Either plated after leaving the Mint or toned. Definitely not a proof issue.

The nickels will tone to a nice gold color depending the environment they are kept in. I have several that toned out like this.
Also , these are normal business strikes.
