I have a 2019 Apollo 11 50th Anniversary $1 5 oz Silver Per curved coin and I am gonna send it in to get graded. I just wanted to ask if there is anything I should be aware of in advance, seeing as how this is a pretty uniquely shaped coin. Anyone who can give me some insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

PCGS has certified a number of these over the years. Whatever you think might be a problem, very likely isn't.

Welcome to CCF! I have one of those too, really like it. I don't want to get mine graded. You could look at sold sales on ebay, see how much they sold for. Sometimes it's not worth grading a coin, costs more than what you'd get back if selling. If it graded MS69 or less, not a perfect MS70, then it won't be worth as much.

Contact the grading companies for prices to get a 5 oz graded, some require you to join as a member which can cost money. You'll also need to factor in shipping and insurance costs. The most popular and accepted grading companies are NGC, PCGS, ANACS, etc. Don't go with an off brand grading company that most collectors don't recognize as being legit.

Total waste of money.
Not sure why people insist on making the grading companies richer.
All said and done the total cost will far exceed the value of the coin.

These are billion they aren't even coins, why would you get this graded? My LCS has graded and not for the same price. Spend your money elsewhere.

I'm considering getting it graded cause I saw ones that were graded going for like 500 to 650.i bought mine through APMEX which gives you a portfolio to keep track of your coins. They also display what it's worth and what I paid. I paid 260 and it says it's worth 279. and I have only opened the coin from its plastic case twice with clean white cotton gloves. So it's in mint shape, and the MCGS site even put an added value of 300 for an MS70 rating. So I think it's worth the money. Thanks for your advice everyone.

Ok good luck it's your money. But checking ebay you over paid for yours and a 70 is selling for what you paid. But if you want it graded go right ahead.

Please look at sold listings on ebay for your 5 oz Apollo coin. It is a coin, $1 legal tender. Of course nobody would spend it as one dollar LOL. APMEX is a good company but their prices can be higher than other online dealers unless you buy their sales. Sellers may be asking $500 and more but it would be foolish to spend that much for one. On ebay MS70 have sold for less than $300, see below link. NGC price guide values a MS70 at $340.

When I shop online I compare the major dealers prices like APMEX, SD Bullion, JM Bullion, Bullion Exchanges and others. I look for sales, who has the best price.

Welcome to the forum. I agree with others that recommend that you do not waste money on grading. I am also curious why you would remove it from the plastic ever - gloves or not.

Doing that likely means your coin will no longer reach PR70
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
