I came across this denarius in a group of four coins listed on ebay. It is of Geta with reverse of Dea Caelestis riding a lion. This reverse type is known for Septimius Severus and Caracalla, but not for Geta.

I checked online fake ancients sites and couldn't find any examples of this mule.

The style looks a bit "off" to me, but I am no expert. What do people think, is this a fake or an unknown mule? I put in a bid on the lot, curious to see what the coin looked like in hand, but didn't win the auction. All I have to go on are the auction photos.

Here are the auction photos and links to authentic coins of Severus and Caracalla.

I agree the style does seem off
The eye in particular has a cartoonish look
(The Simpsons ?)
I found my Caligula mule on ebay so anything is possible !
But it was also misattributed to Germanicus and came from a "reliable" German seller
Which gave me the confidence to snipe it with a fat bid !
I had it NGC encapsulated
(for my heirs)
In this case your caution seems well advised
