What makes you think this is struck-thru?

What I see is a horrible pile of something that got stuck to the coin while it was in the ground,

These are common coins, however there are different varieties to collect.

@chron, sorry but I agree with @pert that this is a glob of something on the coin rather than a mint error.

I'm not entirely sure it's not corrosion, rather than mere "gunk stuck to it". But either way, it's definitely not a mint error.
