1944 Wheat penny
Very dark color the camera won't pic up the Mettalic color
It's actually more like a purplish brown. Pomagrated

Color/toning is the result to exposure to environmental agents. Copper is a reactive metal, and will tone in a variety of ways over time.

yup, environmental toning - copper can take on many different colors depending on the environment it was in.
