rlu7732 Valued Member United States 291 Posts	Posted 03/28/2025 7:12 pm What happens when a coin has a deep mirror finish and frosting on all the devices with the exception of Franklin. (I don't believe they would consider him to be frosted, but I could be wrong) Does the coin just end up getting PR designation and not CAM? Report this Post to the Staff

Freespeech57 Pillar of the Community United States 626 Posts	Posted 03/28/2025 10:49 pm For a cameo designation, both sides need to be "frosty"/cameo. In the 1950's and 1960's they would often replace obverse or reverse dies at different times depending on wear. As a result, you have coins where one side may be frosted and the other not. NGC will sometimes use a star designation on a proof coin when the obverse is cameo but the reverse is not. Report this Post to the Staff
