It came to me with very nice toning,but with time has become more vivid and spreading now to the other side. As if an artist took his brush and went wild across the whole coin. And on top of that, we have very strong doubling on the date and some letters. My question - is it common to see such coloring and doubling? I want to part with the coin, so best avenue for selling? The toning is caused by off-gassing of the original packaging material. The doubling is flat and shelf like Mechanical Doubling which brings no premium. Many dealers have bins of these toned '73 dollars for less than $20 each. It's a beautiful and interesting coin, a keeper, not worth the trouble of selling. okiecoiner Pillar of the Community Canada 5598 Posts	Posted 04/03/2025 12:43 pm Great coloring, but the "doubling" is machine/mechanical doubling (MD) and adds nothing to the price. I doubt if there is much of a market for your dollar, as there are a lot of them out there, but it's a sure keeper. Report this Post to the Staff
