Hello coin community forum, I am John, Located in Liverpool, England
Long story short , I
inherited a large coin collection from my mother who recently passed, and I have decided to expand the collection and continue it.
Recently I bought a bulk lot, from a reputable seller on
ebay website, to help bolster the collection.
One of the coins inside the lot was a very faded, copper colour coin (Could be bronze or some other metal.). I cannot make it out very well at all, I will add the images I have. Once reduced to the 300kb limit it is the best I can do). It is not in the best condition and I can barely make anything out of it in person, so I understand it will be difficult from photographs.
It is approx. 1 1/4 inch side to side (about 3.3cm) and seems to have a bust facing to the right on one side, and possibly some sort of figure either facing left or forwards on the rear. Looks to me that it could be on a horse. But I am uncertain and really that is just what my eyes see through the faded metal and the scratches.
It feels like it is a hammered coin , it kind of dips in the centre , can feel the texture of the profile on the front and on the rear.
The orange outline on the pictures is trying to show what I see but also the original will be uploaded.
I am posting here to hopefully gain some insight into what the coin could possibly be from some members who are much more knowledgeable and familiar with coins and collecting than myself.
Google image search suggested it to be a Netherlands Overijssel Duit Dutch 1766 coin, but this is way off the mark.
Any help would be appreciated.
(Hopefully I didn't break any forum rules, the topic is in the correct place, and will try to upload photos without errors)
EDIT - The weight of the coin is 13 grams
