1894 Large Cent...got it with another coin in auction. Only had obverse pictures to go by, and was pleasantly surprised when I looked more closely at Reverse. I believe it is a "thick 4". Graded as a MS-63 Red and Brown by ICCS but not noted on holder as "thick 4". Couple of die cracks on Obverse noted too. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Terry, there was a bunch of us (you included) on the old CCRS site that hashed that coin around and the small group of us that prepared the 2011 Charlton Vicky variety section had it listed as a "thick 4". We had our input to the 65th Charlton by late summer/early Fall of 2010 and it was immediately picked up by the CCN in 2011. A nice, fairly hard to find, variety, especially in the top few grades.
Well, as I said, I was just looking to add a nice one to the binder for a great price, and it was a cool surprise when I got it in hand and was able to look at the obverse... which wasn't shown in the auction photos
