Curious what everyone's opinion of this set will be. The standing liberty is sitting at just under 13K sets remaining and hasn't moved much since release date how do you see this one selling?
It looks like it will be right in $3000 range with the same mintage. Considering this one and the double eagle were recently done I think people in the market are waiting on the 1804 draped bust and saving their money.

He's talking about the Best of the Mint gold WLH and medal set. I'm not getting the half but would like to find a way to get a gold 1804 dollar.

psuman has it correct I'm talking about the best of mint sets. I think a lot of people are in your shoes trying to justify the expense of that set and looking to pass on the other 2 remaining sets.

Everything costs way too much and there is not an option to buy the silver medals without the burden or expense of the gold coin. This has me waiting to see what the resale market will offer in the future.

This situation reminds me of what occured in 1995 when to get the proof silver eagles you had to buy the 1 oz. gold, and the set was priced at $999. I remember thinking (correctly) that the silver eagle would be the key....but I passed not wanting to lay out the $1k.

Plus we/they/us didn't really know what the value of the 1995W would be in the future. People say the gold eagle collectors would buy the 10th Anniversary set to sell the silver eagle and it would be enough to cover the cost of the set. Which doesn't make sense, because if you had to pay the $1000 to someone to but the silver proof, why wouldn't you just buy the set to begin with? Remember they didn't make the authorized limit of the 1995W, sold around 30,000, they were authorized to 45,000. Edited by Gilly
