Please confirm if this is the small beads dollar. "I" points to the bead and counted 149 beads.  |

 Large beads A in REGINA points to a denticle, and of course the beads look large. "Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

I was aware of the "A" point, however researching most criteria relies on the "I" alignment and number of beads. Sometimes aligment is questionable, but you can't dispute number of beads.

I read that the 1966 Small Beads Canadian silver dollar features 155 beads - is that correct?

Yes it is, and in that posted photo, the "I" in REGINA is pointing slightly to the right edge of a bead, and not at its' center. Space between two beads would not fit another bead, so it is definitely a large bead example, and by the picture, I'd guess worth "melt" value. Large bead 149, small bead 155

Sorry.had the bead numbers reversed. 149 for small bead variety and 155 for large. My mistake

The number of beads is 149, (I counted as well!), but there is no reverse date photo showing, and it could be the obverse of a 1965; with 5 different varieties, and the 1965 medium bead ( type V) has 149 beads I believe, and the "A" in REGINA pointing directly at a bead, like that photo by the OP. It isn't a small bead 1966, in my opinion. The small beads came from the obverse of a 1965 die, used accidentally I believe, so that might account for the photo having 149, but not proving it is the obverse of a 1966 dollar

Or it's an obverse picture from a 1967. just looked at a couple of mine under a scope.149 beads, "A" in REGINA points directly at a bead and the "I" in REGINA slightly to the right edge of bead. Just like the original posted picture.
