I'm down to just the 09-s vdb, 14-d, and 22 plain. These last few have been a real pain. I bet I've made 10 offers on various examples of these in the last few weeks but I've had no luck. Doesn't seem like anyone is flexible in price. I'm finding it hard to settle for say a fine when a vf is only slightly more. I have a feeling this may take a while...

I did the full set by buying mostly raw from a trusted dealer. The prices even 6 years ago were so much better than now. I have 2 full sets, one from 1909 to 2019 (1922 no d is slabbed) the other goes to 2021 (in that one the 1909 s VDB and 1914 D are slabbed) I'm done with Lincoln's though, while I may upgrade one or 2 to full red I have no real interest in continuing that series.

LibertyEagle20, I am in the same boat as you are, having completed my business strike Lincoln Cent collection, except for the 1909 S, 1909 S VDB, 1914 D, and the 1922 plain cents. The costs to acquire these cents are prohibitive and out of my league right now, but I do hope to finalize this set in the future. For now, my Dansco album with four holes inside, remains on the shelf with all of my other completed Lincoln Cent albums waiting for my ship to come in. |

I know I got very lucky, but a few months ago I actually found a 1912-S Wheat cent in circulation! It was probably vg-8. Has anyone else found a semi-key date in circulation? |

I don't think I've found a key or semi key in circulation. I definitely did find a 1909 vdb though. I may have also found a very poor condition 22-D but I can't recall for sure if it was from bank rolls or an ebay lot. I made one more purchase toward this set but it hasn't arrived yet. A 1914-D vf20 pcgs. So I think now I just need the 09-s vdb and the 22 plain if I want to count that one. Def saved the toughest for last.. |

Is having a 1922 "weak D" LWC better than having no 1922 plain when it comes to completing the 1909 - 1940 album ? |
