Nice Innnocent Looking Elagabalus Denarius

But made a photo before parting with it. The reverse was very nice. Seemed a pretty portrait of a nice guy. No one would guess his reputation from his coins? After getting this one had terrible luck over the next couple of days. And nightmares. Became the only roman I sold out of my collection. Some day I will get another Elagabalus . But not in a hurry Anyone here though a coin unlucky? Report this Post to the Staff

jecz79 Pillar of the Community Portugal 716 Posts	Posted Today 1H 2M ago You encouraged me not to give up on an Elagabalus denarius. I saw another good looking one and picked it. This is not so innocent looking. Very different portrait from the one I had had. So far so good, no nighmares Found the fat lips detail and the big eye funny. But I do not doubt the coin. Only downside is that it must have been found and cleaned a long time ago because it lost most of the shine to a new oxidation layer. Older Elagabalus may explain the different portrait details.
