Did you weigh it, if it was acid etched it would be lighter.

Jbuck, I'm leaning the same. The rim looks pretty normal.

I'll say PMD. The reverse looks like it was exposed to acid. Errers and Varietys.

My first thought would be a thin split planchet after the strike.

So will the weight actually tell if a thin split planchet or if acid ate away at the reverse surface?

I'm going to have to go with petri dish acid bath, I think  JennyCents, it paints a fuller picture. It hasn't gotten much thinner for it to have peeled either. This one is heavier than Tropicalbats' example but still under nominal. Measured / Nominal: Weight: 2.851g / 3.11g Diameter: 19.006mm / 19.05mm Thickness: 1.46mm / 1.55mm Edited by MintedNotPrinted
