Question, Why Is The 2024-S Jefferson Nickel Proof So Expensive?

Yet all the 2024-S I am seeing on ebay are $50 or more. Perhaps that's part of the mystery for why the 2024 nickel proof costs so much. But $50 sounds extreme. Set up a deal alert and you may find a good price eventually. It took me about a year of waiting but I recently picked up a full silver 2024 proof set for about half the going rate. Report this Post to the Staff

The 2024 clad proof set was released in 2024 and 355,786 sets were sold along with 170,435 Silver proof sets. That means there are 506,221 2024-S proof nickels out there. This I am assuming is also probably driving up the prices.
