If I had one thing to do over again it would be to have paid more attention to the Lyons folles which I stumbled upon and were being 'dumped' on ebay over a decade ago !
Unfortunately I had developed an obsession with the London Tetrarchy folles ...
These and the Trier 'cuirassed bust' types
Delighted I was to 'scoop' them for what amounted to an expensive lunch
Lovely "Lyons" were much pricer
More akin to fine prime rib dinner !
But the seller was located in France (Normandy) so I assumed the bidders were simply being "patriotic"
Being of modest means and having two dependants I restrained my impulses
(I passed on some real beauties)
C'est la vie !
So my Lyons folles (sans mint) series is less than first rate
But "a ne'er do well" like me can't complain too much really
So here goes

Quite willing to describe this one as bronze as it has no trace of silvering anywhere to be seen !
But now on closer inspection I did notice something which previously escaped my eyes
Unfortunate it is that the coin is less than AU
Then again if it was I doubt it would have landed in my mail box !
Now I am probably wrong but ...
That looks rather like either a
Monogram or a Labrys ?
