LC-48 Overstruck On Reverse?

It almost looks like a rotated double struck, where it was the same design as currently on this, but may have been a weak strike perhaps, so they could have rotated it to strike it again using more striking force the second time. The area where the first strike is seen left of date looks similar to the letters of halfpenny.

I was curious. I opened the post. Can of worms inside.
I agree with mrwhatisit about the rotated die, double-punch. BUT...
I have several Tiffins and had to check yours out in the Ingram catalogue. Yours has all the features of a TF-14, not the 15 ! The error section on your coin does look a lot like the 15 crack. Here are pairs of images from the Ingram book to compare to your token, 14 then 15.




The shape of the hair, and placement of the Y is like your token.



Here are the cornucopiae; again it like the 14.



There are several other areas to check; the placement of the N of TOKEN compared to the bales, the bales, which are also a bit different on the 15,
the arc of the drapery from the foot upwards to the right, the angle of the 2, and the placement of the cannonballs (all TF-14 on yours).

Somehow, the damage on yours seems to be related to the damage on the 15 - how that could have happened is beyond me.
