Here is a new acquisition - a merchant scrip issued by Elijah Drake in Richland, Arkansas. Richland is a township in Madison County in the northwest part of the state. I have two pieces of scrip issued by Elijah Drake in Wesley, a small town a few miles west of Richland. This note, and the township itself, is not listed in Rothert.
I missed out on this note early this year on Heritage when I forgot to follow the live auction. I was surprised to see it come up again so quickly, on Stack's this time, and I was determined to get it. Unfortunately, there was more competition and the hammer price was quite a bit higher this time...
