I recently aquired a hoard of Roman Nummus . some of them has errors and I'm posting one with double die as an example.I would like to know if it has any real value or it's considered normal. Thanks Report this Post to the Staff

This is of course the opposite of modern day coins. For it to have value, it would help if the coin was in better shape and not such a common type; but yes, double strikes can be worth a bit more more, but usually, not much more. So, condition is important as well as the double strike. Your coin has a small bounce with not much double-striking and it is a common type, so no real added value. some of mine-- Report this Post to the Staff
