Where is our/your update?!?
Well - I'm on Outer Banks vacation time.

Hopefully the following big fish day will satisfy your curiosity!
Our Charter departed Wanchese at the very early hour of 5AM. The Captain powered the boat for ~2 hours until we reached ~40 miles off shore and into the Gulf Stream.
The Gulf Stream is where the big pelagic fish live.
It's simply amazing to feel & hear the power of these big boats. Ours had twin 700 Hp marine diesels. It looked like this over the stern as the daylight was breaking:

The Captain and Mate set out 8 serious poles baited for tuna. Within 5 minutes of the baits in the water we had a Blackfin tuna on a rod.
What a blast catching these fabulous fighting fish! It's about 5 to 10 minutes of pumping the rod up and reeling on the downstroke to get every one of these tuna to the boat for the Mate to gaff and bring onboard.
There is also plenty of quiet time waiting for the next strike. Here I am with my happy face look in the fighting chair, with the mate behind me keeping an eye open for fish.

There is plenty of company out here. We counted 17 boats in our small piece of the ocean. The mate said 'you should see it in the summer'.

We had an absolutely amazing time catching these tuna - two times with both of us hooked up at the same time.
Here is my trophy shot back at the dock 12 hours later - 14 wonderful Blackfin tuna at maybe 15 to 20 pounds each.

They are being cleaned and filleted by the fish cleaning service at the marina. Anyone want some fresh tuna?

To make an amazing day even better - we drove from the marina into Kill Devil Hills for oysters and beer at the local icon Awful Arthurs oyster bar.
Last day tomorrow - 6:30AM departure for a lot quieter day fishing for sea bass.
Did I mention I'm on an Outer Banks vacation?

Take a look at my other hobby ...
