Even though I found it yesterday at the back of my desk drawer, I don't recall ever seeing this medallet, or even hearing of a "Peace Through Coinage" program. My online research hasn't turned up much: evidently it was struck by the Gallery Mint in Arkansas, but I can't identify an issuing organization behind it.

Who-Issued-The-

This proof-like piece appears to be dated 2000 and is about the size of a US quarter dollar. It has the heft and feel of copper-nickel or some similar alloy.

Can anyone fill in some background on who was behind this? I'm thinking it might have been sent in a fundraising mailing of some sort.

@dal, yes nothing on tokencatalog, which is unfortunate. I found the same page referencing the Gallery Mint and see that all the links are broken now. However, I do also see a discussion about this piece over in cointalk from ten years ago that states:

Ken Bressett used these as a handout piece at the 1995 ANA convention.

It's a fun piece of history regardless.

I would have assumed that "1995" would be the issue date, with "2000" being the date they were looking forward to the "peace" arriving.
