It took me about an hour to get in the ballpark here with this one, but that's the fun of it For the record, AI told me it was a washer I see the outline of the horse facing right on the obverse, and some features of the plow below. I'm about 95% positive I can make out an 8 in the date, and about 40% positive I can see a 7. E PLURIBUS UNUM present around the shield, with mostly just "* UNUM" readable. Once I had the type, I almost gave up and assumed it was a fake, as this shield is so different from most. 8.3g Non-magnetic 1.015"-1.055" diameter As worn as it is, I would be thrilled if it's legitimate Edit: Added reverse text shot, I was able to make out most of the rest and place the characters accurately. There's a certain angle where the light brings out definition. Edited by MintedNotPrinted Yesterday 9:32 pm Report this Post to the Staff

lcutler Pillar of the Community United States 1683 Posts	Posted Today 7H 4M ago You're very close, it's a 48-g for sure. 48 is the obverse die, g is the reverse die with a lower case g, upper case G is a totally different die. Report this Post to the Staff

While there are some no-no websites for which we don't permit links, I'm pretty sure that PCGS is fine. Give it a try!
