Hello. It's been a while since I posted here, and I'm hoping you'll be able to help me.

Look closely at this penny. Let me know if you think it's worth my sending off to get it graded. At first I thought it was one of those damages where coins are pressed together in a vise, and get imprinted from the other coins. But this one is different. Some of the doubling and tripling are literally in layers. I'm hoping this hold some value.

Thanks in advance for any information you can share.
Matt_MacGyver

Wow, that is gnarly! I wonder if it's a multiple strike coin with a flip over strike. Although given how the coin faces are severely misaligned, it seems like the coin should be out of round.

Looking forward to what the error pros say about this one.

PMD with soft dies.

The rims are crushed with design impressions and there are multiple reverse designs on obverse and reverse.

Not an error, it is damage.
If it was a multistrike, you would have the obverse
showing on the reverse. This shows the reverse
extra strike showing on both sides.
As CoinHi stated, someone used a soft die to try
and create an error coin. Keep as a novelty.

I'm agreeing with JimmyD. Yes, a fun curiosity none-the-less.
