I usually find that proof coins have a wider edge than most circulation strikes. I will note one exception as I find some really wide edged, 1993 P and D circulation strikes.
In any case, it is normal on a proof to have a nicely defined and consistent edge and I can usually identify a proof coin in a roll by it's wider appearing edge. This is pretty normal in the overall scheme of things even though the weight you indicated is actually a little less than the 11.5 grams that it should weigh.
