Using Scanner For Coin Pictures - Coin Community Forum

Coin Chaser Valued Member United States 307 Posts	Posted 09/01/2010 12:03 am I saw on this forum that a scanner could be used to provide a picture of a coin that could be sent over the internet. I have a HP 4580 combo printer/scanner with out any instructions for scanner use. When the printer was set up it sent a scan of the printer alignment to our computer.I also have a Panasonic DMC Fz8 but am unable to take good pictures. I am constricted by a tight budget and need to use what I have available. The scanner will have to be my choice at this time. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. pls Rest in Peace United States 1729 Posts	Posted 09/01/2010 10:39 am You should also be able to download scanning software from the HP site. I use an Epson I found for $10 five years ago at a yard sale, luckily with a CD and owner's manual, attached to my Mac, and it works like a champ. Report this Post to the Staff

John R Valued Member United States 66 Posts	Posted 09/09/2010 9:58 pm also, an easy piece of software to use any scanner is google's free photo software, Picasa. It should detect any scanner when you choose the Import function. should be as easy as that. Report this Post to the Staff
