Help Identifying My Coin/Token/? - Coin Community Forum

MissMoneyPenny New Member United Kingdom 7 Posts	Posted 04/16/2011 6:34 pm Hi Everyone. I have been having a clear out and have come across a number of coins. In particular what I believe to be a Russian coin or token or souvenir item which has a picture of Peter I on the front with some Russian writing and the dates 1672-1725. On the other side is some more Russian writing which a picture of what I believe to be St Petersburg and an angel flying over the city blowing a horn or trumpet. Underneath the picture is the date 26 Mar 1703. It is in a red/clear plastic case. I believe this may be a souvenir item but would like some clarification, and obviously if it is worth something it may be worth insuring?! However, based on your description, it sounds like some kind of presentation or commemorative medal. A photo would enable a CCF member to translate "some Russian writing".
