$1 Bills With Consecutive Numbers, Normal?

freeman Valued Member United States 95 Posts	Posted 02/20/2012 2:33 pm Hello everyone, I'm sort of new to CCF, but love the amount of information and that I have found so far. I don't make it a habit to collect currency, but I think it goes with the coin collecting. Anyway, late last week I turned in some coins from searching rolls and received some ones back. Today I noticed that three of them have consecutive serial numbers. I'm wondering if this normal for one dollar bills. Either way I thought it was pretty cool. WVUcoins Valued Member United States 141 Posts	Posted 02/20/2012 3:16 pm Freeman welcome to the world of paper money. All new bills arrive at the bank in straps of consecutive numbers. It when the bank starts to disburse them to the world that the numbers get mixed up. So to answer your question yes it is normal to find consecutive numbers in all currency. Bryan1315 Bedrock of the Community United States 14454 Posts	Posted 02/20/2012 5:52 pm they are common since a factory bundle will all be consecutive numbered but I do have a habit of keeping all consecutive numbered bills I get from change or somewhere like that just because I think its cool to find them in circulation together. They may not have any premium but still cool in my mind. I have some that are 10 different bills with consecutive numbers and just think its cool that they started together and I got them together in change Report this Post to the Staff

If offered as a set in the future, it can help to sell them easier, but not necessarily gain more value. But if it gives them more attention in an auction, it can bring an extra buck or two.
