What Is The Value Of A 1929 Brown Seal $100 Note?

hernerrich New Member United States 4 Posts	Posted 02/20/2012 5:40 pm Hi, I have been hanging on to a "1929 Chicago brown seal $100 dollar bill," and was wondering the current value of such a note. Would this be better to hang onto, in hopes it will gain value? It is not in the best condition, as it has a small piece of tape in the top center. The bill also has what looks like, "ink spots" that happened during printing. It is the same color brown as the seal, and looks splattered on the bill. Its very interesting... Unfortunately, the foxing along with the tear and subsequent tape damage will kill the collector value so it is not going to be worth much more than $100. Report this Post to the Staff

It is a tough decision to keep it or not, especially since $100 can be a lot to just hang on, if it isn't worth much more than face value. I personally would either try to sell it for whatever I can get or cash it in for face value at a bank and buy something nicer, that I know will go up in value over time.
