But that 1944 25 cents looked way better before the CLR, even from far away, you can see clear hairlines on the coin, which some TPGs would slab as ``cleaned`` probably. But if that's just a coin from your melt bucket, it does have a moment to look pretty and shiny before being thrown into a fire.

Here's a comparison for you. The first one is ICCS MS-60 that I already had. When I saw the other coin, I thought that it had potential to be as good or better. Any marks on the second coin were there, whether you could see them before it was dipped or not. With a loupe, you would have seen them. And do you seriously like the dull, flat look of the obverse from the before photo? There was no lustre at all, it looked dead. The reverse was even "deader", with uneven colour and a weird, small line through CENTS. I tried to take these two photos as close to the same conditions as possible. The uncertified one actual turned out looking better than the certified on. Blow up the photo and check the fields of the Certified one; many more marks which have taken the lustre off.
