Oldest Coin You Ever "Found"?

Oldest for me so far is a 1892 IHC while roll searching in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. Always nice to find old US coinage in Canadian boxes.

oldest coin I ever found in the US (not including roll searching) was a 1909 VDB given to me as change. It was in AG condition. In roll searching I've found a several V nickels that predated this.

In Europe, especially before the Euro was introduced, some countries had coins from the 19th century still circulating here and there even if obsolete by whatever system they were using at the time. People didn't really collect coins over there I guess. In fact, doesn't England still have circulating pennies from the late 1890s?

1897 IHC from a roll

I know IHCs turned up here and there still in the 60s and definitely in the 50s, but sitting liberty dimes! Outside of a rare piece, didn't those leave circulation in the 20's. Do you really mean sitting liberty or did you mean barber. To have been using them as a kid you'd have to be at least 95 years old?

Oldest for me was an american 1915 one cent in my Canadian change haha
