If I replicated the photos with my own sets, you would see all the coins were missing—they have long since moved to Dansco albums. Yes, I still have the OGP materials tucked away.

I get a kick out the 1979 proof sets and how they didn't "retool" the holder from the Ike to the SBA dollar.

I remember being a little upset when I received the 1980 proof set—my very first from the Mint directly—and it did not match all the others I had bought by then. But I got over it once everything was moved into albums twelve years later. To be clear, the lens changed between 1972 and 1973 when they added the Ike, but the size of the cardboard sleeve was the same so everything fit nicely into the box I had. They went back to the 1968-1972 style lens in 1983 when the SBA went away.

I'll be doing the same. Although with the prices of the 2025 I'm leery of doing that but then again, I don't plan on selling them. They are for me to enjoy how I see fit...my kids can deal with that later Quote:I get a kick out the 1979 proof sets and how they didn't "retool" the holder from the Ike to the SBA dollar. I wonder if they were so busy redesigning the Dollar that they had an oppsie moment.

seamonkey, I assumed that they just had a bunch left over from the previous year(s) and they wanted to use them up first since the lenses don't include the year.

I could see that, waste not want not. Then in 80 they redesigned the box and case.
