Great additions MNP and ICE Quote: It is one I have been looking forward to, but I am a little sad I only get a reverse proof and not the regular proof as well Jbuck, you could always go back and add the regular business strike P&D issues just to have more to look at. I think the AI coins are going to be sleeper coins, the space ones are already popular.

Quote: Jbuck, you could always go back and add the regular business strike P&D issues just to have more to look at. I bought a P&D Dansco album to hold the Regular Proof ("P") and "Different" (Revese) Proof ("D"). I could pick one business strike for the P slot going forward, since the mint mark is not visible anyway. In case you missed it in previous topics, I never collected sets of the business strike golden dollars because of the mint mark. For my albums, I have only used proof examples. I did miss that. The edge lettering is the stupidest thing ever, hate it! It's not like their is not enough room on the obverse for the date and mint mark. They can leave the motto on the edge but I wish they would put the date in a readable area. Did they never think they would go in a coin album where you can't see the date...

Completely agree on all points: The edge lettering is dumb, there's a ton of real estate available on the obverse, and dropping the Proof sucks. I just hope they don't drop the reverse proof!!!
I got a blank CAPS album for my Innovation Dollars. Because of the edge lettering, the P & D are indistinguishable when encapsulated and in the album. With my old eyes, it's a challenge to identify them even when raw, there's no way I can do it without magnification. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Quote: Did they never think they would go in a coin album where you can't see the date... even leaving them in OGP, you cannot read the edge lettering - giving us the only way to id the mint is by the color (or type) of the packaging they come in.

Yup.
Even edge view slabs leave you at the mercy of whether or not the prongs cover the information, especially the business strikes where the edge lettering location and orientation are random.
