I know it's extremely unlikely, but you might want to check it with the 1909 VBD Matte Proof diagnostics just to make sure it's not a circulated proof.
I have a 1911 proof that I thought was just a plain old AU 1911 until I checked that out.
Hey, I am from the Burgh also. I am so used to seeing and hearing 'yinz' that I didn't even catch that. Really nice find on this coin.
I know this is nothing as good as a 1909 vdb, but I got a 1960d penny (large date) in change the other day that is so bright it looks like it came right out of a roll. It caught me by surprise.
