I doubt that I'll ever get remotely close to your figures. Just wishful thinking on my part.

Hi Jim, here in Australia, going through coins looking for varieties, errors etc is called noodling. Rabbit ears are actually Cuds on the reverses of many of our $1 Mob Of Roo Coins, 1984, 1985, 1994, 1998, 2000 & 2006. The small Roo at the top has these Cuds attached to the back of it's ears making many of them look just like 'rabbit' ears, hence the name. We just call them rabbits or bunnies & all Aussie collectors know what we are referring to.

Any other questions about Aussie terms, just ask away. If I can't respond, there's always someone else who will be more than willing to assist.

You can view some Rabbits in Yass' gallery.

Well, thanks to some GREAT collectors and friends in Australia, I actually have RABBIT EARS in Indiana! I will never find one noodling and the few I am missing will eventually find a home here but until then my love for the Mob of Roos and the PROOF MOB will never cease!!! Don't have the dates in front of me at this time but I do understand a few are pretty rare and that is why all you AUSSIES should store your errors here in Indiana!!! Sounds good to me!

There is an 85 rabbit currently being auctioned on the Australian ebay. They are hard to find and rarely offered. It's probably graded fine.

The one and only that I saw went for a song! $40-$50

I sold one to a forum member for $100.

I know of one collector who went through over $1,000,000 before he found his first. IMHO I believe they are harder to find than the elusive mule which to me would put their price closer to $400.

However there are collectors out there who don't regard an error as a coin to be collected.

I'm not sure if it's harder to find certain types of rabbits ears in Victoria but I haven't found a single 1984, 1985 (seems not many have) or 2006 rabbits ears . But I haven't looked for a couple of months! I have 2 or 3 each of the 1994, 1998 and 2000 coins
