Great story Wade, thanks for sharing it. Looks like you made a nice home for rabbits that "are not staying". lol. Wish more people were like you.

allranger,

ya I figure about 2 weeks old, maybe 3 but small due to lack of mommy for about 5 days.

midnight run to 24 hour vet for some kitten formula (don't even ask how much that cost...)

will watch their weight gain over the next few days, but the vet said they are fighters if they made it this long. just hope they aren't too malnurished or that there aren't any long term effects.

best I can figure is the tenants took mom with them when they moved and possibly did't realize that she had babies tucked away. it looked like the whole 9x7 shed was being used as the mom's hutch, the kits were tucked away in a corner.

PS, if anyone on the west cost wants a pet they will be ready in about 4-5 weeks.

It's as if the nickel was a sign of what you would find in the shed. Good thing you didn't find one of these.

What a great furry story! Like another poster said, separate the bucks and does as soon as possible!

I had guinea pigs....a real sucker for little furry animals. :)

Great story. I used to raise Netherland Dwarf rabbits and remember them fondly!

Did someone say free stew on the west coast? I haven't had Bunny stew since my grandfater passed on in 1992, might bring back fond memories. Just kidding..... I have two dogs that were tossed out a car door as pups at the work place of a local shelter owner and three cats that we rescued as well. Heres a hint rabbits are rodents I used to breed several varities of rodents and unless you want to be breeding them as well seperate them by gender as soon as you can tell it. Or they will be pregnant before you know it.
