, colterneeley!

I am always suspicious when a couple scarce coins appear, with no relatively common coins in sight. It's always possible, of course, but as others have suggested, getting them certified is step one.

Personally, I doubt the 93s, perhaps both, but I'd be tickled to be wrong.

I'm always suspicious, too. I think like a police detective and my first inclination is to ask probing questions about the discovery.

But, hey, we'll see...

Both are key dates within the series but, both have issues which would lower their value unfortunately.
ANY 1893-S is a very valuable coin, even those which have problems. Likewise, the 1894 is also a very important coin in the series.

Haha I wish! I'm debating now whether to sell them or to start collecting these.

As stated, you are well on your way with these two out of the way. I am also starting to collect Morgans and find that the VG-VF coins are working for me. Some of the common dates are easily acquired in MS, as well as some of the common CC's.
If you look at Numismedia or the Greysheet, you will see those that just go crazy at a certain preservation level. Such an example can be seen in the 1884-S. AU to MS is night and day.

Not knowing who the "coin grader" is, this is putting the cart before the horse.

I think most of us can grade these within reasonable agreement. A grade is meaningless without authentication, like having a nice clear photocopy of a faked autograph. Not many dealers are qualified to authenticate coins.

Colter Welcome! Wow what a nice find. I'd be very careful who you let look at these. Is the grader your going to, well known. Does he have a good reputation? DO a quick search on the internet with his / her name or company's name. Just to see if any complaints surface. Its probably a good precaution to take very clear pictures from multiple angles. And just be careful or a little suspicious if anyone tries to get these coins out of your site. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't be able to grade these right in front of you. If his special equipment is in the back where you can't see. Ask to join him back there. Or see if he can bring the equipment out. I'd hate to see you whined up like a few horror stories I've read. Legit graders will charge a small fee for their service. And when all's said and done you always have your pictures to compare back to just in case. I know sometimes I can be a little extreme with security. But they're are a few bad apples out there. And I'd just hate to see you get scammed bye one. http://WWW.NGCCOIN.COM or http://www.pcgs.com/ are the two top grading companies. You would have to pay for a membership to submit your coins. But I think it'd be worth it. Or you could find a dealer to submit for you its just then were back to my cautiousness. They've got good tips on they're sites. Also http://www.HA.com would send someone to your house to look at these bad boys, then make you an offer or list them on they're site for a commission. They're are a few other well known dealers/auction house's like Stacks and Bowers http://stacksbowers.com/ and many others. You have what collectors want, if you were ever thinking of becoming a collector. You have 2 great reasons to start now! lol Good Luck let us know how you make out. And once again Welcome!
