This is the first thread that came up when I did a Google search. I found this nickel today coin roll hunting. Didn't think it was worth making a thread for it but I was hoping someone could shine some light on the large "1979" stamped on it. Thanks

So Far I've searched 3 boxes of nickels. First box was all new coins 2001-2012 with only 1 2000. (I learned my lesson on what to look for so hopefully it won't happen again.) Second Box I found 71 1981 and earlier with 8 young elizabeth II and the oldest was 1958. The third box has been the most interesting so far. Two of the rolls were actually pennies - but they were shiny and mostly new (only 2 1996 and earlier). Found 101 1981 and before including 1956, 1957, 1959, 1961, 1962 and a dime.

I'm going to open an account at TD because they told me if I have an account I can use their coin counting machine for free. That way I won't have to re-roll everything before bringing it back :).

Opened an account at TD and got to use their coin machine for free which saved me a lot of time. They only had 20 rolls available so I took those. Found 52 1981 and earlier which is my highest percentage so far (6.5%) and got a 1960 so I think I have all the years from 1956-1981 now.

I picked up 10 rolls of dimes and much to my surprise, I found 5 silvers in the first roll. The next 7 rolls had none but the last 2 were almost full rolls of silver dimes! I Gould a total of 80 silver dines in the 10 rolls. Score!!
