I blew the dust off this thread. Does anyone else have collections other than coins?

Never really was a collector. I do get into my hobbies though, so I guess you can say I collect hobbies and the gear for those hobbies. For a while I was serious into photography. So I collected the gear needed for that.

I just recently started to dabble in vintage tools. I don't plan to spend a whole bunch. One of my goals for this year is to organize my tools and my workbench area. As I do this, I plan on incorporating some vintage stuff that is also usable.

Very nice hfjacinto! I've got some pretty serious scopes myself - 20" Planewave on LS500, 16" ASA Astrograph on Paramount ME II, Takahashi-TOA150F on Paramount ME, a couple FSQ-106 and an old FC76, Celestron C-11 and a few others, plus an older MI-250, Losmandy GM-8G and a SB MYT mount. Somewhere on here at CCF I posted this photo when I first joined up posted in February, 2012. That's the portable rigs pre MYT mount at Big Bend, TX. A long time ago I used to sell astro gear at a little shop called OPT in Oceanside, CA.

But dang a 20" Plane Wave!! That's just not fair.. To me that is. You rule. Thats cooler than a 1955 DDO in Mint State

I am now into vintage postcards and have joined the local postcard club that meets monthly. I also frequent a coin/stamp show that has a few postcard dealers and it has been great. One of the dealers purchased a vast old time collection with lots of rare stuff and I've been backing up the truck to snag some of it before it is gone. Currently spending more on postcards than on coins which I never in a million years thought I'd do since the average postcard is so inexpensive. But I've found a liking for the "good stuff" in the hobby and I'm hooked. Still into coins and still obsess over them so I am still into numismatics but have more divided loyalties.

Nice idea thisistheshow. The vintage stuff will really make your workbench look nice. My grandfather used to do a lot of wood and metal working.
