Quote: So...some of us might have a...problem?!
I went to the Florida Keys last week for a week and bought coins every day so that when I came back home I had 7 packages waiting for me.
Hi, my name is Travis and I am a Coinaholic. *HI TRAVIS!*
Did you visit Mel Fisher's coin shop? I did, could'nt resist the temptation and had to buy an 8 reale from some ship wreck.

Hello My name is Louis and I'm an addict I've been clean and sober from buying coins for 36 hours. My last ebay purchase was a Seated Liberty quarter on Tuesday night. I have 11 more packages coming in the next 72 hours from all recent purchases bringing the past 4 weeks total up to some 59 items . I am 39 years old and up until a month ago I have played golf with a passion for 20 years, week in and week out, sometimes twice a week. I had worked my handicap down to single digits as a result of my hard work. I have not teed up a ball in a month. All of my greens fees and practice funds have been diverted since I discovered something: Coins My children think something is a miss. Dad no longer leaves the house on Saturday at 7:00am not reappearing until lunch. Dad comes home on time each night from the office rather than show up at 7:00 sweating from having just hit 150 8 Irons. What's going on with dad? Well kids, dad is under his 5x magnifying glass and his halogen desktop lamp studying the fine intricacies of the shield on an 1851 seated liberty half time while he looks up every other 10 seconds and compares what he sees to a PCGS Photo or other auction listings. This is my new life. I sit in a room surrounded by 6 guitars that I have barely touched in a month as well. I need help. I want to play golf, I want to write a new song but I cannot put my babies down. They...are...my...PRECIOUS!! Anyhoo, I'll post some new pics in the grading section this weekend to get some thoughts on a few kick butt coins that should arrive! See you at the next meeting!

Quote: The real question is whether or not that joke was original, because if it is not, its value is reduced to about 25%. LOL, no, its not really true. thankfully I do NOT have 2 kids and a wife.. They would take up too much of the coin budget!

You guys are disgusting, sure I have been abusing coins for a few weeks but I'm not addicted. I can quit any time I want.
My doctor said "Zinc deficiency can lead to diarrhea, loss of appetite, irritability, hair loss, poor vision, slow wound healing and stunted growth."
So I got a box of pennies and now I feel great!

Me? Addicted? Pshaw. I can quit any time I want! The thing is, I still collect coins because I don't wanna quit. But don't get me wrong, I can still quit any time I want to, which means I'm not addicted. Srsly.

My name is Dave.... I too am an addict. I look forward to going to the mail box in hopes that a new coin or banknote will be there and can not wait to get home to open it. YES..... I force myself to wait til I get home, one must show SOME self control.
I call it the Christmas syndrome, because it is like opening a Christmas present (even though you know what it is) every time! I'm glad to see that I am not the only one who is affected by Christmas Syndrome. To help with my buying, I also sell, which in part helps the spread of Christmasitist.

My wife has harped on me for years that I hardly ever finish any project I start. I am going to prove her wrong this time by completing my slabbed 7070 collection! My eyes may be looking forward to the next "hole" to fill in my "album", but I occasionally stray with a side glance at the next possible upgrade. I may have a "problem", but it's "my" problem, there are many who share this hobby, but this one is mine!

Quote: Hello, My name is Robert and I am addicted to collecting. Does anybody else always look forward to the mail arriving hoping your latest purchase is in the box? Does anybody else want to stop at every coin shop you see when out driving around? Have you ever passed a Pawn shop and wondered if they had something you wanted at a reasonable price? Hello Robert!! Hello my name is Tony and what Robert said! Are there 12 steps? Or just Full Steps?...

I don't think that it is a "PROBLEM".... if someone else dosen't like it, it is THEIR problem.
Like my wife told me the other night.... it could be worse... I could be collecting guns!

I might be addicted but just encase - enable me all you want. No addiction is good unless there is an enabler involved. No intervention is needed.

I'm addicted to cherry picking Indians. I just can't seem to quit. If I could just start parting with them, I could buy an 1877 and a 16-D Merc easy and finish my dang albums...

I have a confession to make... I'm addicted to crack...die cracks that is. For the past few months (maybe more) I have been buying Morgans with serious die cracks and clashes. I thought I could quit but then I figured WHY?

Quote: Like my wife told me the other night.... it could be worse... I could be collecting guns! There was another post not long ago about what other items we collect. Guns were there many times. It does appear that coin collectors usually have guns too. Coins and guns seam to go together.
