I know this is probably a no no in the coin collecting field, but I am just curious. Is there one special coin you have that you carry on you all the time?
Being worth a ton or worth nothing.....
Back before I started collecting strictly silver coins, I had a Five and Ten Centavos United States coin in plastic in my wallet for the past 9 or 10 years. Never knew what they were worth, if anything, I just thought they were cool at the time.

Yes, indeed, I always keep a 1961 US Silver Quarter in my wallet because it has once gotten me a scratch ticket winning streak (raked up around $100 by scratching around 6, I won them all in a row). Also, this quarter helps me do well on tests, especially in my former Calculus III Class lol.

Silver Dollar nice!
And I just figured it to be a no no because depending on what that coin would be worth, you really should be carrying it on you and possibly ruining it or losing it one way or another.

I always carry a 1879 Morgan. My Anna is like a American Express card, I never leave home w/o her.

my grandfather (also a coin collector) had bought a wallet decorated with a morgan from the 1890s and he pulled the ms coin out at the end of the wallets life and he still has it. (morgans were worth around face at the time the wallet was made.)

A coin dealer I knew when I was a teen many years ago told me about a man she knew in Rochester, NY who bought an 1895 proof Morgan dollar who carried it in his pocket for safekeeping. Well, when he decided to sell it 40 years later, in the late 1950's, he got the same amount of money for it as when he bought it. By then it had worn down so much it was only in good condition. Definitely wouldnt say to carry around anything youre trying to preserve, although I guess if you wanted you could carry it around in a slab.

I actually carry around 3 coins sealed in Saflips. They are modern nickels and just the wrong mint mark of what I need to complete my Jeffersons. That way I can show the teller/clerk EXACTLY what I'm looking for.

Mine were in a thin hard plastic case and were very well protected and did not take up too much space.

Here's my 1921-D pocket piece - also don't leave home without it. I liked the circulated cameo look so I figured I could add to the look by carrying it with me daily.

Jeff, that's a nice piece to be carrying in your pocket . None the less, I would do the same.

In a bezel on my key-chain, I have a quarter from the year I was born. Probably, not worth anything more that 25 cents to anyone but me.
