Thank you, Foxwoods. Looks the sale is not bad, mintage may reach the limit soon.

For the 08/07, the initial estimate came from the number of 07 reverse die found among retired 08 die sets (15, times the average yield of 3133 coins) and the final number came from the DIS information database for those specific die sets.

I stand corrected, One can NOT take their eye off the hobby for a moment! I last thought the mint guesstimated they produced about 42,000 in an 8 hour shift.... Thanks again. Now back to our regularly featured topic!!! :) EDIT.... I believe this variety is still the # 2 in a mintage total!!

Here's what the mintnewsblog had to say about this set.........
The Making American History Coin and Currency Set opened with sales of 24,130 units. This reflects orders placed from the start of sales on August 7 until the sales reporting date of August 13.
This seems like somewhat of an unenthusiastic opening compared to other numismatic products containing American Silver Eagles. This year's individual proof coin with "W" mint mark had opened with sales of 299,539, the individual uncirculated coin with "W" mint mark had opened at 123,801, and the San Francisco Silver Eagle Set had achieved sales of 85,341 after approximately one day.
For the Making American History Set, the US Mint indicates an "initial production" of 50,000 sets, although the "established production limit" is no more than 100,000 units based on the availability of $5 notes with the appropriate serial numbers

With no sales date limit....and with almost half of the initial 50k gone in the 1st week...I would say that the additional 50k minting is just about a given
