They're always cool to find, and they pop up when you least expect them! Lets use this thread to help identify the historical significance of the counterstamps found or purchased, and share the ones we might own! I will start with a simple one I have had for quite some time. Have not been able to find any information on this modern 2000 counterstamp "8". They are really hard to research!

Raymo, in my OCD googling of counter stamps I've seen that one! Really cool! It's a Masonic counterstamp. The ones I've seen though look less well struck if you will. Some are even TPG certified. I quote... A Masonic Penny is a penny stamped with the square and compasses, the internationally recognized symbol of Freemasonry. It also has allusion to the 1st degree in the York Rite of Freemasonry. Edited by joeturbo26
