I am watching and taking a keen interest though I don't have anything to enter yet.
My favourite so far is the camel but I could change my mind :)

Wow, some nice coins here. Was thinking I had some chance with my samples. Then I saw augustus' and steve's entries, and was thus: . And then this: because I like them so much. Anyhoo, I have a grand total of two ancient coins, but as luck would have it, both depict animals. Huzzah! So here goes: Cheerronesos Silverhemidrachm, 2.296g, 12.7mm, obverse lion forepart right, head turned back left; reverse quadripartite incuse square, pellet X and amphora in the sunken quadrants. And: Macedonia Silver tetrobol, Aigai mint, c. 443 - 437 B.C.; obverse horseman right on exergual line, reigns in right, two spears in left, kausia at nape of neck; reverse forepart of a roaring lion right within an incuse squareI'd be lion if I said I thought I was gonna win. Geddit? See what I did there? You see...oh never mind.

einhard,, those are pretty nice coins, and very old. So you prefer Greek, I guess. Are there Roman coins in your future? -- Warren

Submission is closed. Now we vote. We have 24 hours to vote for the coin(s) you like and best represent this category. Vote for 3 coins in order of preference. And remember I changed the point system back to Gold (4pts), Silver (2pts), Bronze (1pt). You have until 20:00 hours tomorrow, Saturday, September 8. You do not have to have a coin in the contest to be able to vote. So lets get those votes rolling in.

Doucet, I appreciate the vote for Bronze, but my coin is not in the contest. It was just an example. So, please make another selection for Bronze.
Speaking of not having an entry, as the moderator do I get to vote? I'm not sure what the protocol would be in this regard. Perhaps I am suppose to not vote in order to break any ties. What say all?
