I am obviously biased, but I find NFLD coins to be the nicest in the Canadian series outside the GORGEOUS Pre-67 50 Cent pieces, particularly the King George IV/V series.
I have a great line on junk grade (which are often NOT junk grade!) NFLD halfs, and I grab one or two in place of a Maple anytime my dealer doesn't have anything else interesting. Lately I have been considaring doing a run on the silver dollar, so I have been grabbing low grade easy years on those in place of NFLD halfs as well, but they will always be my first love in terms of Canadian Silver, as they are part of my heritage, and I think the size is perfect.
I also imagine what my ancestors likely went through to get 2-3 of those in their pockets, and the stories some of those coins must have heard. That counts in my book. But maybe I am a sentimental/patriotic sod.
