Not sure of how carefully you check out the stuff you've demo'd though. In an area not far from my house someone demo'd a building that at one time housed a Jewlry store. I noticed they had the area blocked off for months during one of the slowest demo's I have ever seen. Now just what do you think was going on there. Remember, when doing some demo work always look for other things aside from coins. Old bottles, cans, jewlry and if you have connections there is a pretty decent demand for really old wood. Some of the stone work used way, way back is bringing a decent price from people that want to use it for walkways, gardens, etc.
Hear the story about a house recently demo'd where inside the walls were paintings worth millions. The guy that lived there was going through a divorce and hid them in the walls so she couldn't get them. He passed away and a demo company got the stuff from what I heard.
Good luck and keep on looking. There is stuff out there.

I'm just getting back into collecting after being away from it for over 40 years.I'll be doing it all year from now on.looks like you have to if you want new coins or you'll get behind and have to spend all your time catching up

I agree Greg, if I collected all year I would have many, many more coins than I do now. Alot less money too..

I have more time and money for my collection when it's not hockey season... Between the tickets, and parking, and concessions most of my spare cash is taken up during the winter!

I know what you're saying Kyra, however, for me it's about to begin. Golf is almost upon us here in the northeast, and with such a limited season, we are at the mercy of the courses for the most part to set the pricing. I certainly don't have to pay for parking, but greens fees and the 19th hole get pretty expensive.

Cold weather keeps me indoors with the computer, so I spend more time here and reading about collecting. That keeps me more interested in coins and naturally more interested in buying. So I'm a cold weather collector.

I am a student, but I look at this forum on week nights, and spend time with my coins on weekends. Of course I'll be happy to see summer come and then I will have lots of time to spend on coin collecting.

Alaska...hopefully I'll get there someday, what a beautiful place. For me, it does go in streaks. I can honestly say that it's not the season, but it's the urge I get to buy a coin or coins to add to my collection. I also look at all the change I get almost immediatly to see if I have anything interesting.

I find that I collect year round to be honest. It all started when I took up metal detecting & started pulling Roman & silver hammered out the ground. Those I would collect, the Victorian stuff would just sit in a jar.
Also I'd pick up commemorative coins on my travels overseas & little bits 'n' bobs that took my fancy. I combined it with stamps ( FDC's ). ebay came along & so made collecting quicker & cheaper in some ways.
I've picked up a few American 'colorized' coins lately which have taken my eye & I also look out for Vatican euro's.
It's a 24/7 hobby for me I guess.

Not enough money. That's the problem 99 percent of us face.
