I just grabbed this 1943 Half Crown for 8 bucks shipped . I think I did fine. it has about 5 bucks of silver in it I think . It was probably dipped at some point but looks good to me. Especially for the money. Still has lots of luster.

Wonderful Ha'Penny! I really like the ship design. Today I bought a few at an online auction along with some pennies, farthings, etc. If there is anything particularly interesting when the shipment arrives I will post here. I am sure I will have lots of questions.

Stay well,

Belated happy new year which doesn't feel as though much happiness has been dished out so far in 2021 although cautiously optimistic better days are ahead. I hope you all are keeping safe I'm jabbed up well first dose. Anyroada onwards with the coins :).

Despite the annoying inability to ever capture a coin as I see it this beautiful 1934 George V Half crown semi-key date after 1925+1930. Real tough coins in top grade to locate. Its around GEF/AU possibly even closer to UNC . Has lovely cartwheel lustre unbroken and one of the better struck coins for this date

JasonKFLO - Dipped no, cleaned yes, still a nice piece a VF (EF40 American money)

Zookeeperz I agree, stunning EF piece there, you can see the light wear on the thistle and honestly an Uncirculated George V halfcrown is likely to burn your retinas.

Still beautiful coins and I need to get back to buying some.

1962 Florin Uncirculated, a cheap coin - but seldom seen like this, even 1967 Florins have that sort of matt lustre. This thing shines like its off a bankroll!
