I truly enjoy these coins - they were the first ones I started collecting before I got into silver! I buy one of each just for the enjoyment.

It's simple why this series is doing so well, it appeals to birders as well as coin collectors. I'm an ornithologist (study of birds) and this is my other passion beside my coin collecting. This series is very popular among birders. I have several birding friends who collect these coins that don't know anything about coins or collect any other type of coins. It's all about the birds on this series :)

Well, when offer and demand (hum-hum sorry) Supply And Demand got out of hand on the Nuthatch I could not resist the opportunity and sold for almost $500. Price has come down since then but still... around $300. Impressive value for worthless metal indeed.

Just out of curiosity ( I don't collect this series), why is the Nuthatch fetching so much more than the others ?

Humming bird is definitely first.

It does make me wonder why in a lot of coin lists, the Nuthatch appears first and why is it the one that is crazy expensive.

It also makes me wonder why there is an achieved page on the Mint's website for the Hummingbird but not the Nuthatch.

what I wonder is why the Nuthatch is so popular. IMO it's the least impressive design of the series.
