Windchild - Go slow! Most batches are sorted coins from big batches - 2 nice coins, 5 alright coins, 3 blanks, all constantine and later. I recommend you go to the UK ebay and do as I try to - find a nice, varied batch with incomplete pictures that scare away other bidders - dug from the ground by a local detector who wont be able to list the types - bad description to scare away the uninitiated. Coins will be much cheaper - £2 each from a dealer, 50p each from a lovely guy with a detector.

And more importantly - only buy a batch with the intention of getting something you want in that batch which you can see - dont expect nice things, dont expect rare things - those are bonuses!

Sorry - I'm no good with V-Coins! Never had the effort to work it all out. Best of luck - hope you find a nice lot!

Haha, I think these were some of the lots which I planned on bidding on but ended up missing. They went for a good price too so I'm really glad they went to you . It'll be nice to see the progress you make with them.

Coinage - I nearly missed it too! Missed the first lot he sold. The only opposition was bids set on the day the auction went online.

Keep looking - I'm not buying for quite a while now - you'll find more lots like this without my opposition. 95 coins will easily placate me for a few months!

I really want to find another place where I can look at the coins and decide which one I want - its only happened once, when I bought my first coins. If only Id known what I was looking at! I know I cycled past some real beauties in that little plastic tub.

Oh - and look out for any Byzantine stuff thats mixed in there. I missed my chance to buy a Byzantine coin - I hope that one of the coins in another lot I'm getting at christmas is a Byzantine.

Well, I've always wanted a barbarian being dragged from a hut and thought that could be one (holding a globe perhaps). But after reading that they all face left, I was quite annoyed. But look at the top left of that batch... I may as well throw the other lots away!

What we think is a Carausius may well be a barbarous Carausius, it has a very odd look to it. I'm looking forward to seeing more pics when you get it, any idea when?

Well, hopefully, on Christmas day. But postage may delay it a bit, I really hope it isn't. I'm itching to get my hands on that big lot! Either way, I'm recieving at least 12 coins on christmas day from my previously posted lot.

A Barbarous Carausius would make my year!
