There is a flan flaw near the chin but I believe the price took that into consideration. It has a bold date and good metal so the price seems reasonable. It is as nice as my example of the coin with that date (but I'm not famous for having great specimens). This period at the Rome mint is not known for finding full legends easily so this is a decent coin and what I'd call a keeper. For a first denarius, it is great. Congratulations on what I hope will turn into a fine collection.

Nice coin for the money.
My first ancient was also a denarius, but of Antoninus Pius with the modius and corn ears reverse, obtained way back in 1966. That coin was part of a collection started in 1964, and which was sold in 1976, as part payment on our first house.
I have retained all of the sale information on it.
